Better known as Mike Galeboe or in the underground Dance Battle Scene as ‘Daito’ iscurrently a final year Theatre and Performance Diploma student majoring in Choreographyat the University of Cape Town.Mike has been training as a professional dancer since 2013 joining the Performing ArtsFoundation. The foundation opened amazing avenues for him to be able to work withphenomenal mentors and choreographers such us international coach and Judge AndreCalets, Ethan Benson, Shamrock, Mike MGL and BK from Just – U Artists. These creativesallowed for a sub unique career path for Mike as he found himself teaching, training,performing, and competing on international stages such as Hip Hop international in 2014and most currently touring with Canadian based dance crew Moon Runners in the UnitedStates of America for VIBE in 2019. Branches such as Just-U Arts opened doors for Mike intothe television spectrum, allowing him to step into spaces such as Trace, Mtv and aninternship with the Be Your Dream Midea House. While working on independent projectschoreographing for himself, dance crews and local and international artist such as Iman Holmes (MiMi) and Jimmy Nevis.As Mike comes to an abrupt end to his university experience, having learnt and work on aplethora of different projects, stages and means of creating work, he finds himself lookingforward to new prospects, working with extraordinary creatives, artist and mentors such asDi Ross, Natalie Fisher and Lyrical Deezy and his company Elite Movement to foster a newmeans of work within the industry. Taking his learned and lived experience to question theworld of creatives, to make meaning in the world of art.
